A few months ago Nautilus had to recall two treadmill models that could start on their own without user input.

Yesterday another popular manufacturer of treadmills, Horizon Fitness, announced a recall for a treadmill that can unexpectedly change speed or stop without user input. Both of them were due to bugs in the software, making you wonder if the programming could have been done by the same software engineers. They are both produced in China.

This applies to the Horizon Fitness treadmill model T101-05 only, sold from March 2018 to Oct 2022.

The solution, like with the Nautilus recall, is a free USB stick containing a software upgrade.

Full details of the recall are here.
