Power Rack Attachments & Compatibility (2026)

2026 Update – Revamped entire guide to link to manufacturer pages that list all compatible attachments, so that you can quickly browse the full selections.

You get a hold of a great power rack or squat rack, but then you find out that the company doesn’t make the attachments / accessories that you want.

No problem! You should be able to find a compatible attachment or accessory, as long as your rack is made with one of a few standard configurations.

The 3 Compatibility Specs

The key specs are:

The tubing size of the uprights, as above, typically one of: 2″x2″,  2″x3″, or 3″x3″.

Racks made in China usually use metric sizing. This applies to a lot of brands featured here. They don’t advertise the fact, and you would have to ask them or run into the problem yourself. The tables they are organized in identify them as such.

The hardware/peg diameter that fits into the holes in the uprights, as above. Varies from 1/2″ to 1″. Going by the peg diameter is more consistent across brands than the hole size that is cut somewhat larger than the peg.

The hole spacing in the uprights, ie: the distance between holes on center, as above. This is only applicable for attachments that use 2 holes, the second using a locking pin.

2″ spacing is becoming the standard. Some racks have Westside spacing, which is 1″ spacing at a certain height range for setting bench press safety bars just right, and otherwise 2″ spacing above and below that.

When Slightly Wrong Sized Attachments are Ok

An attachment can fit in a larger hole than it’s made for, but it will be able to wiggle and maybe tip down a little, depending on the snugness of the bracket that goes over the tubing.

Similarly, attachment brackets can fit onto slightly smaller tubing than what they were designed for. This can be less bad than the wrong peg size, because you can glue shims (UHMW plastic or wood) to the inside of the attachment’s bracket to make it fit. Some attachments work well enough even if they’re loose. Some don’t have enough pressure put on them to be a safety issue, like a battle rope anchor, but it could still rattle.

Lastly, the steel gauge (wall thickness) of rack tubing does not factor into compatibility. The tubes are fabricated to an outside diameter spec.

rack tubing adapters

For fitting 3×3 attachments onto 2×3 tubing, or 2×3 attachments onto 2×2 tubing, an Etsy seller is making these adapters to fill the void in the bracket.

When You Should Not Use the Wrong Sized Attachments

I don’t recommend you use load-bearing attachments that don’t fit quite right, such as J-hooks, steel safety arms, or plate holders, unless you have a good way of retrofitting it to be snug enough. Use some common sense, visualize it, and you’ll get the idea.

Attachments Using 2 Holes

In many cases attachments that use a locking pin to secure the attachment into a second hole on the rack’s upright won’t line up the same on all racks. Normally this is the difference in metric and imperial (inches) hole spacing. As much as you want it to work, under most circumstances you won’t get the locking pin in. The offset starts at 1/16″ per hole and widens cumulatively.

If you’re thinking of foregoing the locking pin or buying a thinner one, and you have to ask for confirmation on whether it’s safe, you probably shouldn’t do it.

List of Power Rack Attachments by Size

Rogue has among the best and most consistent quality. Cheap Amazon-only brands are the worst and might be unsafe, and we avoid promoting them when possible. Most other brands are somewhere in the middle or sometimes as good as Rogue.

Slightly smaller than 3″x3″, and pegs slightly smaller than 1″. Generally compatible with 3×3 racks. The attachments here with a locking pin using a second hole, such as spotter arms, can even sometimes fully fit on 3×3 racks because the smaller peg size somewhat makes the attachment drop a little lower and reach the slightly wider spaced hole to lock into.

An exception: There have been reports of Titan’s regular J-hooks not fitting over 3×3 tubing.

Universal Fit Attachments

For a high and low cable system that works on almost any power rack, see the Spud Inc Pulley System shown above.

If you only need a high pulley (for lat pulldowns and tricep pushdowns), see Giant Lifting’s pulley system for a much lower price.

This Rep Fitness dip station above fits on almost any rack with 1″ round safety bars (thanks Anthony!). The rack needs to have at least 21″ depth between the front and back uprights, which is the case for all freestanding racks and most floor-mounted racks except the most shallow ones. The rack’s hole spacing does not matter, as the bottom part of the attachment simply rests against wherever the lower safety bar is.

There are a couple solutions for power rack strap safeties if you can’t find a match. If you can get a brand of them with brackets that fit your rack but the straps are the wrong length, get two 2″ Stren-Flex slings of the right length to replace them with. They are extremely strong, with pertinent info labeled and a chart on that webpage with the pound ratings.

Your second option is a pair of Spud Inc suspension straps that hang off your rack’s top crossmembers.

Rear Rack Extension and Foot Stabilizer Fit

rear rack extension
extension feet

Multiple questions on this in the comments prompted me to add this section.

You generally can’t add a rear rack extension – usually to accommodate weight plate storage – made for a different brand. The height of the holes off the floor and the rack width would have to be precisely the same.

Similarly, with extension feet meant to stabilize a rack, the holes would have to be precisely the same height off the floor, or they would float and defeat the purpose.

I have heard reports of people using these across brands, but in every case it seems the user made some modifications to make it work.

General Recommendations

For the best compatibility going forward, I highly recommend getting a 3×3 rack taking 5/8″ pegs (Rogue Monster Lite compatible) or 1″ pegs (Rogue Monster compatible). Even you never buy a Rogue product, they lead the way in things like this.

Rogue appears to be de-emphasizing their 2×3 racks in favor of 3×3. Other manufacturers have seemed to follow suit. This doesn’t mean that nobody will make racks with 2×2 or 2×3 tubing. I believe that there will be a market for those lighter and cheaper racks for a long time, and they are not necessarily bad racks. The 3×3 attachments sell much better and are more numerous, because people who spend the extra money for a 3×3 rack are more likely to soup it up.

You might want to steer clear of racks that have metric sized tubing. They are harder to fit attachments on. Some of them fit ok.

  • Is it confirmed that the Titan T-3 lever arms fit the Rogue infinity racks? I haven't seen a lot of info on the cross-compatibility, and much of it is conflicting.

  • hi, i have spare Rogue Monster 2.0 upright and been thinking to convert it to kind of all-in-one storage for Dumbbell & Miscellanous stuff.. does Stray Dog Strength dumbbell Tray and or crossmember will fit on Rogue Monster 2.0 upright?

    thanks in advance.

  • Anyone have any clue if a Rep Fitness crossmembers will fit on Rogue Monster uprights? I worry about the hole spacing not lining up exactly right before ordering small crossmembers to downsize the depth of my rack.

  • Excellent article and very informative! Thanks for the great work!

Question: Does the diameter size refer to the hole or the hardware/peg?

    For example, is:
    a) the hole 5/8" and the peg is smaller like 9/16" OR
    b) the peg 5/8" and the hole is larger like 11/16"

Background: I'm starting to think the holes on my squat rack were cut too small for a few reasons.

    1) I purchased spotter arms from the same company and the pegs didn't fit into the holes on the squat rack
    2) I purchased an attachment from a separate company that is included in above chart and the pegs also didn't fit
    3) The product page has this strange note: "***Note: These replacement J-Cups will not fit Garage Series Squat Racks with Pull Up Bar ordered between June 2020 and October 2020. Please contact team@fringesport.com to place an order for j-cups if you ordered during this timeframe***". I purchased my squat rack just after the period.

    Anyone else run into this?

    • The charts are the hardware or peg size. Holes are a varying amount bigger. It sounds like your interpretation is right and Fringe made an incompatible rack that you got caught in despite the date. This is the first I've heard of it.

    • Ditto that question. Im also looking for safety straps that works on the GPR400 So if you or anybody else finds a good solution, please post here.

      • Answering myself. I bought the "säkerhetsarmar" from Gymkompaniet in Sweden. They have a danish site as well. The spotter arms are made for their Recoil racks. But it fit nicely at a very competitive price.

  • Hi, I've looked everywhere trying to find someone to validate that the rogue monster shrimp trawler will fit onto a Rep PR-5000v2 rack. I'm trying to mount my heavy bag to the rack. the hole spacing issue (1.96" vs 2") is a bit concerning because the shrimp trawler's holes are spaced 6" apart, center to center. That's now a difference of of 0.12" over the 6" (0.04" * 3 = 0.12"). Has anybody put this configuration together?

      • So I decided to take a chance on the Rogue Monster Shrimp Trawler. I figured worst case I will drill out the holes a bit to make it fit. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the holes in the shrimp trawler are not round, but oval and will easily accommodate attachment to a Rep rack. Plus it has three holes, but Rogue confirmed you only need to use two of the holes (they only give you two bolts anyway). I've attached a pic of the trawler. I'm trying to get Rep to sell me a single 16" crossmember that I will then mount on the top of the rack in a vertical position and attach the trawler to it. this will allow me to get it higher so the bag hangs at the right height.

        • Hey Chris, I'm trying to do exactly what you are doing. Did rep sell you the cross members? If so, I'd love to see a picture of the final product.

          Regards,
          Mark

          • Mark, so they did sell me a set of two (apparently i couldn't buy just one). it's the Apollo 16" crossmember
            https://repfitness.com/collections/rack-attachments/products/apollo-16-crossmembers
if you look closely, the shrimp trawler is leaning down. it's not bending, it's caused by the play in the holes vs the bolt. the heavy bag (just 100lb) and the trawler are pulling laterally on the crossmember and it's twisting in the holes. if you have a 93" upright, you could mount the trawler directly to the upright and there wouldn't be a problem. Functionally i don't think it's a problem.
One thing that I didn't expect is that hitting the bag causes the rack to shake (i'm not that strong). i put spring clips on the weight horns to keep the smaller weights from vibrating off. i don't have it bolted to the floor as i have about 1000 lbs of weight plates on it.
The cross-member is black metallic, so if you choose to do this, i make you a deal on the other cross-member ;)

          • you should try and add the monster mini feet to the sides where the bag is, according to Brandon from youtube channel, ill leave the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-mftvdU9Vc , he explains the feet from rogue https://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-monster-mini-feet should fit the pr 5000 series and vice versa. I am trying to do the same as well add a bag to my pr 5000, the mini feet are only 13 inches long and should help in making sure the rack is stable, while also making sure they are not on the way.

          • so the rogue mini-feet came in, but unfortunately they would only mount to the front. they will not mount to the side where the trawler is. I wanted to like them, but I ended up sending them back since they weren't going to really help lateral stability. I'll probably mount a bar hanger on the opposite side to offset some of the weight.

          • Just notice the holes on the pr 5000 are higher than the ones on the front, did the feet fit the holes on holes or they just don't align with holes on the side?, If they do align with the side holes I might weld a piece of metal or put a piece of thick rubber between the feet and floor, why can rep just do all holes the same distance in all sides.

          • yeah it wasn't an issue with the mount height. like you said, i could very simply put some spacers under the foot to make the height issue go away. the problem was that the hole spacing didn't seem to line up at all on the side. very perplexing. It would definitely mount to the front if I wanted to do that.

          • thanks, i like those feet. i'll look at getting a set. i also revisited this setup and repositioned the pull-up bar between the two 16" uprights. this keeps the bag from pulling the crossmember and the setup seems a lot more stable when hitting the bag.

      • The Storm Series bolt "Accessory Hanger" looks like it would work! I'll give them a call. thanks!

  • Has anyone found a Lat/Row cable attachment compatible with the Ethos Power Rack 1.0? It looks as though a different cross member across the back would be necessary at the very least.

    • Both rear cross members have slotted bolt holes. So there's some flexibility in regards to installing it on a non titan rack. Worst case scenario you can always drill your rack. Bigger issue is the width of the cross members. If your rack is under 42" wide between the posts. You'll need to use spacers on your racks factory cross members/pullup bars. If it's greater, you'll need spacers on the titan cross members.

  • FYI,
    I own a New (Oct 2021) Titan Series 100" tall 6 Post Power Rack and am using some new Rep PR 5000 Attachments (1" pegs with 2" Hole spacing). The pegs and holes line up perfectly with no modifications as follows;
Rep Standard and Lowered J Cups (Not available from Titan)
Rep PR 5000 24" Spotter Arms
Rep PR 5000 Front Foot Extensions (Not available from Titan)
Rep PR 5000 6 " Weight Horns (Not available from Titan)
Alternating the standard and lowered J cups allow 1" spacing for squats/benchesn etc.
The spotter arms and foot extensions allow use outside the front of the rack without having to bolt it down (This thing is a BEAST and will never move no matter how heavy I go anyhow)... ;-)

  • I have spent three days trying to figure out the same and chanced upon this site! This is awesome and helps in figuring out which way to go. Bravo!
