2026 Update – Revamped entire guide to link to manufacturer pages that list all compatible attachments, so that you can quickly browse the full selections.
You get a hold of a great power rack or squat rack, but then you find out that the company doesn’t make the attachments / accessories that you want.
No problem! You should be able to find a compatible attachment or accessory, as long as your rack is made with one of a few standard configurations.
Table of Contents
The key specs are:
The tubing size of the uprights, as above, typically one of: 2″x2″, 2″x3″, or 3″x3″.
Racks made in China usually use metric sizing. This applies to a lot of brands featured here. They don’t advertise the fact, and you would have to ask them or run into the problem yourself. The tables they are organized in identify them as such.
The hardware/peg diameter that fits into the holes in the uprights, as above. Varies from 1/2″ to 1″. Going by the peg diameter is more consistent across brands than the hole size that is cut somewhat larger than the peg.
The hole spacing in the uprights, ie: the distance between holes on center, as above. This is only applicable for attachments that use 2 holes, the second using a locking pin.
2″ spacing is becoming the standard. Some racks have Westside spacing, which is 1″ spacing at a certain height range for setting bench press safety bars just right, and otherwise 2″ spacing above and below that.
An attachment can fit in a larger hole than it’s made for, but it will be able to wiggle and maybe tip down a little, depending on the snugness of the bracket that goes over the tubing.
Similarly, attachment brackets can fit onto slightly smaller tubing than what they were designed for. This can be less bad than the wrong peg size, because you can glue shims (UHMW plastic or wood) to the inside of the attachment’s bracket to make it fit. Some attachments work well enough even if they’re loose. Some don’t have enough pressure put on them to be a safety issue, like a battle rope anchor, but it could still rattle.
Lastly, the steel gauge (wall thickness) of rack tubing does not factor into compatibility. The tubes are fabricated to an outside diameter spec.
For fitting 3×3 attachments onto 2×3 tubing, or 2×3 attachments onto 2×2 tubing, an Etsy seller is making these adapters to fill the void in the bracket.
I don’t recommend you use load-bearing attachments that don’t fit quite right, such as J-hooks, steel safety arms, or plate holders, unless you have a good way of retrofitting it to be snug enough. Use some common sense, visualize it, and you’ll get the idea.
In many cases attachments that use a locking pin to secure the attachment into a second hole on the rack’s upright won’t line up the same on all racks. Normally this is the difference in metric and imperial (inches) hole spacing. As much as you want it to work, under most circumstances you won’t get the locking pin in. The offset starts at 1/16″ per hole and widens cumulatively.
If you’re thinking of foregoing the locking pin or buying a thinner one, and you have to ask for confirmation on whether it’s safe, you probably shouldn’t do it.
Rogue has among the best and most consistent quality. Cheap Amazon-only brands are the worst and might be unsafe, and we avoid promoting them when possible. Most other brands are somewhere in the middle or sometimes as good as Rogue.

Slightly smaller than 3″x3″, and pegs slightly smaller than 1″. Generally compatible with 3×3 racks. The attachments here with a locking pin using a second hole, such as spotter arms, can even sometimes fully fit on 3×3 racks because the smaller peg size somewhat makes the attachment drop a little lower and reach the slightly wider spaced hole to lock into.
An exception: There have been reports of Titan’s regular J-hooks not fitting over 3×3 tubing.

For a high and low cable system that works on almost any power rack, see the Spud Inc Pulley System shown above.
If you only need a high pulley (for lat pulldowns and tricep pushdowns), see Giant Lifting’s pulley system for a much lower price.
This Rep Fitness dip station above fits on almost any rack with 1″ round safety bars (thanks Anthony!). The rack needs to have at least 21″ depth between the front and back uprights, which is the case for all freestanding racks and most floor-mounted racks except the most shallow ones. The rack’s hole spacing does not matter, as the bottom part of the attachment simply rests against wherever the lower safety bar is.
There are a couple solutions for power rack strap safeties if you can’t find a match. If you can get a brand of them with brackets that fit your rack but the straps are the wrong length, get two 2″ Stren-Flex slings of the right length to replace them with. They are extremely strong, with pertinent info labeled and a chart on that webpage with the pound ratings.
Your second option is a pair of Spud Inc suspension straps that hang off your rack’s top crossmembers.
Multiple questions on this in the comments prompted me to add this section.
You generally can’t add a rear rack extension – usually to accommodate weight plate storage – made for a different brand. The height of the holes off the floor and the rack width would have to be precisely the same.
Similarly, with extension feet meant to stabilize a rack, the holes would have to be precisely the same height off the floor, or they would float and defeat the purpose.
I have heard reports of people using these across brands, but in every case it seems the user made some modifications to make it work.
For the best compatibility going forward, I highly recommend getting a 3×3 rack taking 5/8″ pegs (Rogue Monster Lite compatible) or 1″ pegs (Rogue Monster compatible). Even you never buy a Rogue product, they lead the way in things like this.
Rogue appears to be de-emphasizing their 2×3 racks in favor of 3×3. Other manufacturers have seemed to follow suit. This doesn’t mean that nobody will make racks with 2×2 or 2×3 tubing. I believe that there will be a market for those lighter and cheaper racks for a long time, and they are not necessarily bad racks. The 3×3 attachments sell much better and are more numerous, because people who spend the extra money for a 3×3 rack are more likely to soup it up.
You might want to steer clear of racks that have metric sized tubing. They are harder to fit attachments on. Some of them fit ok.

Isn't the Rep Fitness PR-5000 V2 a 3x3 with 1" HOLES?
Yes, close enough, just a little under 3x3
Trying to convert SM-1 to SM-2 and use my 70 inch pillars for the back. I want to attach the 70 inch to 90 inch(power rack) without buying both conversion kits. Is it possible?
This should be possible, but it sounds like you should consider coverting your SM-1 to the half rack. You may need to contact rogue to see if they will sell a modified HR update package so it includes the 90 in uprights and utilize the 70in you already have.
Would the Titan attachments for the T-2 Series (specifically the T-2 monolift) not fit the Rep PR-1100? I figure the .03 inch of tube size should not matter that much but it says requires 2 inch hole spacing and I can't tell why
Hi David. Just wondering I have the bodycraft f430 seems verŷ limited to what attachments available apart from bodycraft own dip bars and j hooks. Do you know of any other brands that would fit it for jammer arms or any good different attachments to add some variety . 2x3 and 1/2 inch holes
Hi any update on this from anyone
I’m interested in trying to attach a REP Fitness PR-4000 Lat/Low Row Attachment to a Rogue RML-390F Flat foot monster lite rack. The Rogue rack has 3x3” x 92” high uprights with ⅝” holes. The outside distance between rear uprights is 49” so the 43” REP rear base stabilizer seems like it could fit the Rogue rack (inside dimension between rear uprights: 49” - 2X3” = 43”). That assumes the holes would line up. The Rogue uprights are an inch shorter than the REP’s so I would need a one inch shim at the top. REP is coming out with a belt squat attachment that will work with the Lat Pull Down unit. This combination would be considerably cheaper than the Rogue offering. Anyone have any comments?
I’m so interested in this too. I want to mount the rep lat pulldown to a Titan X3. The inside dimensions on the pr4000 is 41” vs 42” for the X3. Stabilizer is 43”
Has anyone attempted this with some shims/adapters?
You're kind of effed if you own the stainless steel drop-in style racking, as seen with the Legend Fitness Ultra Pro lineup, Hammer Strength power racks, dynamic Ultra line up, and the elitefts vs multi full lineup. Tried to order a set of elitefts multi-full rack j-cups along with the off-set pair to experiment with my Legend racks, but they are not making them due to covid-19.
Yep, York has some similar to that too, and I'm not sure if any of them are even compatible with each other.
Will any of the squat safety straps fit the Valor Fitness Bd-11 power rack?
Thanks
Safety straps with loosely fitting brackets might work well enough as long as they aren't going to bounce out of place. Your best bet right now might to be carefully give some larger safety straps with 1" hardware a try, either the Rogue Monster or the 75x75mm Rep or Titan.
Edit: The Valor BD-11 is 32" between uprights, so any straps will need to be a little longer than that.

Just fyi, these hulkfit acessories fit the valor bd 11. I have a pair and bought it based off of the international reviews.
Great, I'll probably add a note on it. I've been leery of the Hulkfit attachments because I noticed their J-hooks have cheap protective felt liners in them, as if that's going to last or do much. When they cheap out that badly I have to wonder.
FYI, all your categories say "hole size" but some refer to holes some refer to hardware! Titan refers mostly to literal hole sizes whereas REP and Rogue tend to talk about *hardware* sizes, so it's easy to mix it up. You have the PR-5000, TITAN, and Monster listed as 1" holes; they're definitely all 1" *hardware.* You've got the Titan X3 correctly listed as 11/16" holes, but list the Monster Lite as 5/8" holes (it uses 5/8" *hardware* and would have to have ~11/16" holes).
Oddly, the PR-4000 breaks the pattern and *does* have 5/8" holes (using M16 hardware).
That's been bothering me too, and I've been wondering about the best way to revise things. Most people talk about hole sizes, even if the 1" they're talking about is really the hardware/peg size like with Rogue. I'm thinking it would be best for me to convert them all to hardware sizes as needed, with a note explaining this? Thanks for the additional details on Titan, Rogue and Rep.
So does this mean REP PR-4000 assesories will not fit ROGUE RML?
Does anyone know anything about the maxxus fold up rack? Looks like a rogue knockoff? Will rogue attachments work with it? It says it is 3x3 tubing, but I can't find the hole size or spacing.
