Yes, I meant York but typed Troy by mistake lol.
100% for sure the grippiness was due to the rust — it sure wasn’t due to the lack of knurling.

Here’s the weird part .
Even though the knurling was nearly gone due to decades of heavy use and damp ocean air, both rusty bars were GRIPPY as hell — even better than plain steel.
